Specialist Upholstery Cleaning for Homes and Businesses Across Bristol

Aura Floor Care provides professional upholstery cleaning across Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire, covering everything from family sofas and dining chairs to cinema seating, theatre auditoriums and office furniture. We're NCCA Senior Members with over a decade of fabric care experience, and we also offer dedicated low moisture upholstery cleaning for sensitive fabrics, with child and pet safe products used throughout.

Upholstery isn't carpet. The fabrics are thinner, the dyes are less stable and the fillings hold moisture in ways a carpet never will. Get it wrong and you end up with shrinkage, colour run or watermarking that can't be reversed. That's why we test every fibre before we clean it, then match the method to the fabric rather than forcing one process onto everything.

Professional sofa cleaning in a Bristol home by Aura Floor Care

Sofa and Suite Cleaning at Home

Your sofa works harder than almost anything else in the house. Kids, pets, takeaways on a Friday night. Most suites we clean haven't been touched professionally in years, and the difference afterwards genuinely surprises people.

We clean fabric sofas, armchairs, footstools, dining chairs, headboards and mattresses. Sensitive fabrics like viscose, linen and velvet get our dedicated low moisture cleaning method, so there's no risk of shrinkage or browning. Everything we use is child and pet safe, and most sofas are dry and back in use the same day.

Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll give you an honest price within the hour. No hard sell, no surprise extras on the day.

Commercial Upholstery Cleaning: Cinemas, Theatres, Offices and Hospitality

Hundreds of seats, used by thousands of people, cleaned almost never. That's the reality in most cinemas and theatres, and audiences notice. We've cleaned auditorium seating for venues including the Bristol Hippodrome, and our commercial client list includes Bristol City FC, Harvey Nichols, Holiday Inn and Best Western Hotels.

Commercial seating needs a different mindset to domestic work. Fixed rows can't be moved, turnaround windows are tight and the venue usually needs to open the next morning. We work overnight and out of hours as standard, using rapid dry methods so seats are ready for the first screening or the morning shift. Our Ashbys Enforcer 400 with Magma heat exchanger gives us consistent high temperature cleaning across long runs of seating without losing performance halfway through an auditorium.

Why Upholstery Goes Wrong in the Wrong Hands

We're regularly called out to fix work done by general cleaners who treated a sofa like a carpet. The damage is usually permanent. Too much water and the filling stays wet for days, which causes browning and that musty smell that never quite leaves. Unstable dyes bleed the moment they're over wetted. Some fabrics shrink visibly off the frame.

Our NCCA training covers fibre identification, dye stability testing and pH control. Before any cleaning starts we test an inconspicuous area, identify the fibre content and check the manufacturer's cleaning code. It takes ten extra minutes and it's the difference between a sofa that looks new and a sofa that's ruined.

How We Clean Your Upholstery

1. Inspection and fibre testingWe identify the fabric, test for colour fastness and agree the right method with you before anything gets wet.
2. Dry soil removalThorough vacuuming with upholstery tools lifts the dry soil that makes up most of what's actually in your fabric.
3. Targeted pre-treatmentStains, body oils on arms and headrests, and heavy contact areas get individual attention with fabric safe products.
4. Deep extraction cleanControlled moisture extraction rinses the fabric without overwetting the filling beneath it.
5. Rapid drying and finishingPile setting and air movement mean most pieces are back in use the same day. Stain protection is available on request.

Upholstery Cleaning Questions, Answered

How long does a sofa take to dry?

Most fabric sofas are dry within two to four hours using our low moisture methods. Heavier soiling needs slightly more moisture, so allow up to six hours in those cases. We'll give you an accurate drying time before we start.

How much does sofa cleaning cost in Bristol?

It depends on size, fabric and condition, which is why we quote from photos rather than giving a blanket price. Send a picture on WhatsApp to 07534 183880, or call us on 0117 279 1682, and you'll usually have a firm price within the hour.

Can you clean sensitive fabrics like viscose, linen or velvet?

Yes. Sensitive fabrics are a specialism of ours. We offer a dedicated low moisture upholstery cleaning method that avoids overwetting entirely, and we test every fabric for colour fastness before cleaning. Child and pet safe products are used throughout.

Do you clean cinema and theatre seating?

We do, including full auditoriums. We work overnight or between performances so your venue never loses a trading session, and rapid dry methods mean seats are ready for the next audience.

Can you clean office chairs in bulk?

Yes, and it's far cheaper than replacing them. We regularly clean batches of operator chairs, meeting room seating and reception furniture out of hours, with pricing that scales for volume.

Is the cleaning safe for children and pets?

Completely. Child and pet safe products are used throughout every domestic clean, and furniture can be used again as soon as it's dry.

Do you offer stain protection after cleaning?

We can apply a fabric protector once cleaning is complete. It helps spills sit on the surface rather than soaking in, which buys you time to blot them up. It's optional and we'll only recommend it where it genuinely suits the fabric.
